THOUGHT WAS A SHORT STORY, ITS A COMIC BOOK

I would recommend this over many Marvel or DC graphic novels, at least for adults. It contains nudity and is not appropriate for kids by any means. It is better than "The Boys" series in my opinion but is too short to establish strong characters. It seems more like someone put together a movie pitch that flopped and simply turned it into a comic. Having said that, the comic is a solid story and better than most.

Dark comic but if you have read any Joe Hill than you already knew that. I very interesting story. It is not as well crafted as his work on Locke and Key (which is one of the greatest works ever created in the comic medium) but this is more along the lines of His novel "Horns". I really liked the illustration. Joe hill has a great track record and I like that he crosses from traditional horror fiction to comic books. We need more quality horror in the comic industry. Recommended.

knowing Joe Hill's work I realized it would be or could be ...macabre or sinister.An adolescent accident that leaves the child stuck there emotionally.The depths that he falls into ,as an adult,once given an amazing power is startling.Eric is amoral and without human feeling.We don't know for sure but it seems that prior to accident,Eric was normal little boy.Head injuries cause personality changes,but his full psychosis shows up when reunited with his cape.Which was his baby security blanket that his mother his mother turned into cape.........I.'m sure Freud would have a field day..The art is amazing . Really high end production values. A nice surprise for the money.

I was halfway through reading on my tablet in bed when i realized my girlfriend was reading over my shoulder. We were both engrossed by this painful tale. She is a huge Joe Hill fan, with the Locke & Key collection, Heart-Shaped Box, and Horns and this story convinced me to dive in. The art was a little uneven, but never distracted from the story. I grabbed it for kindle for just .99 and it was a steal. I love the super hero stuff, but a good punch in the gut like this elevates the art of graphic storytelling.

I loved this short story, and it is a perfect example of how great a short can be interpreted via comic series. In this case, Jason Ciaramella has masterfully converted Hill's original story to this wonderful series of comics. You really will find yourself asking, "but what if it really is magic?" about your cape, in whatever form it takes.

Book is so good that I always give it away to get them to start either reading or reading graphic novels. This is my 4th time buying this.So poignant and wonderful.

Joe Hill's The Cape is not your average superhero story. It's not your average villain tale either. In this story you have real people with real feelings. I can honestly say that I am not sure who I felt sorry for the most. This is a great graphic novel that will make you think. It is worth so much more than I paid.
