So you can understand my satisfaction with this product I'll give you a few examples. I'm so bad at math that multiplication is challenging. With that being said and with the help of this book i'm an expert at whatever you throw at me. (What do you mean) this book doesn't only give you written examples but it also gives you video clips of examples. If you can't follow or go along with the video to interpret and understand these problems that will be on the test we'll..... it may be a neurological issue. Lol. Again I repeat multiplication was challenging for me that's how bad I am at math. These videos give you step-by-step to help you succeed on the test. If I had to pick Con I would suggest more test add at the end. One test on each subject wasn't enough for me...... I also included a GRE book to go along with this book math section. I was told by someone who had already taken the test that there are more short word problems then this book offers. Not a big deal. That individual scored a 57 on the text with this book alone. Someone like my self who's slow when it comes to "simple math". The mechanical section in this book provides exactly what you can expect on the test. And reading comprehension is just that try to comprehend what you're reading .

Read the study guide. Reviewed it a few times. Scored a 44 on the AOR but was looking for a 48-50. The math, reading, and mechanical sections provide a solid foundation on what you need to know. I think the study guide lessons could have been more in-depth for the math questions asked. There were some math questions that I did not know how to go about answering even if I was reading the study guide. The reading section could have been more accurate to portray what is on the actual OAR. In the study guide you read a long paragraph or short story for a couple questions. There is no such thing on the AOR. All reading questions are a short paragraph with 1 question. Also, the study guide does not mention how long you get for the reading section. You get 30 minutes. The mechanical section was the best portion of the study guide due to the vast subjects it reviewed and what was asked on the AOR. I would recommend this to use in preparation for the AOR but I would find other sources to supplement this material.

Reason for the rating is there is no probability information. I took the test a week ago today and on the math section every question I had except one, were word problems, there was probability, averages, and other long word problems, there was also one logarithm problem. There is a good amount of Mechanical and Reading information but the Math section needs a serious update. The Practice test is descent but maybe put in 1 or 2 more practice tests with different questions. From pages 117-127 needs to be cut down a lot, its repeating and there is a vast amount of half blank pages, I counted at least 6 pages that were either 1/4 to 3/4 blank. Pages 128-143, personally I don't see why its in here but I can understand why some people need it, it needs to be cut down to half or less, 15 pages on overcoming test anxiety and overcoming your fear of math is an extreme amount of repeating. I feel cheated and upset that I paid $30 for a book that I will only be using once and on top of that using only 2/3 of the content, now I have to find something to fill the gap on the math portion. On Amazon, it says that there was 156 pages, when I got the book there is only 144. Suggestion, update the math section and put more practice questions or cut the price to $15-$18. I just looked at the link on the last page of the book, it basically says that to keep the length of the book to a minimal go the this site for additional material and it sent me to the digital version of pages 128-143, this is space that could have been used for another practice test.

Was super helpful however I just took my OAR exam today and I have to say that a majority of the math section was not included in this study guide. I was told by the processor to study using GRE material which is going to contain similar math information.

The math is very basic and should only be used as a refresher. The guide needs more complex problems, such as word problems, numbering sequence, and geometry. The OAR doesn't give many problems in the basic form, it gives more word problems and you have to set it up to work the problem out. The mechanical section is very good and goes into much detail like the OAR. Overall the study guide is good to get you started and should be used in conjunction with other guides. The video links to further explain the problems is a major plus.

This book was the closest guide to the real test! I only had a week to prepare and I was really happy with my score thanks to this book! Totally would buy it if you're considering the OAR

Won't help you ace the test, but combined with a few weeks on Khan Academy, it'll steer you in the right direction. The test itself is harder than the book. Use this as a guide; don't expect it to replace a comprehensive math and engineering education.

It's about the size of a large magazine. This book gives you all the formulas for [Math, Mechanical Comp.] and good tips for Reading Comp. The Reading Comprehension section gives excerpts from actual aviation books, and asks you the comprehension questions from that. I'm really glad I bought this. This should definitely help you improve your ASTB score. I haven't taken the exam yet.
