I found this originally at a library. It's about six pages, and all but the last are a lift-the-flap kind. The text is pretty simple: "Here's the sock. Here's the laundry basket. Where's the puppy?" Then you lift the flap, and it says "There's the puppy!" The last page shows the puppy asleep in its bed with all the other objects around it. It takes a little manual dexterity to get a grip on the flap. The cardboard isn't extremely thick, but it's stronger than a commercial postcard, and I haven't seen too many babies rip those.I gave this to a father who speaks Russian and English. He was incredibly happy with it, and the baby (who loves dogs, the bigger the better) thought it was one of the best books ever. I only wish it was available in even more languages, because I could imagine giving this book to anyone with a one year old and a parent who is tolerably adept at any non-English language.Since this baby is at the "chew on everything" stage, and because I think that chewing it to pieces is a bigger risk for the book than ripping pages, I suggested a layer of clear packing tape around the outside of the binding. It seems to have worked well enough. It might be nice if you could get this in a pre-laminated version, or maybe made out of the Tyvek-like material of the "Indestructibles" line of books (like Flutter! Fly!).

When my daughter received these books as a gift it was hard for me to believe she would like them. Boy was I wrong. She ADORED them. Ages 9m - 15m were our sweet spot with these books and they made many plane rides bearable. I love the variety in the kids used, the simplicity of the photos. Plus they are fun. Where's the Kitten and Where's the Baby were our favorites.

It is hard to tell from the description, but the book is the size of CD, and is really thin (not that thick carton they usually use for infant books) and fragile. In addition, the pictures look really outdated: furniture, wallpaper, objects, compositions are clearly late 80-th.I am giving it 4 stars because we found a use for it and the rest of the books in the series (carrying in the diaper bag) and because my son does like it a lot. However, this book is terribly overpriced for its value, and i probably wouldn't gotten if I had a chance to see it in person.

It's a really cute book, smaller than I expected, but cute. I have no idea if the translations are accurate or not, but the words in English are fun. It's pretty cheaply made. The pages are so thin that if I left it where my 19 month old could get it, she'd easily rip it apart. It has flaps that fold out to show you where the puppy's hiding. Again, they're very thin. Overall, it's a cute book, but don't know if I'd buy it for a toddler....even though it's made for a toddler.

I work at a parent's day out program in the baby room. We care for children ages 6wks- 2 yrs old. And this book is a favorite. We keep having to replace it because the pages get worn! This little book is loved by each and every child that comes through our room!! I would highly recommend it!!!

it arrived much smaller than I expected but it's cute.

The book is ok. I think it's overpriced for the quality.
